MercadoLibre Fashion Film

Tú Estás de Moda

MercadoLibre is Latin America’s largest e-commerce website with nearly 20 million members and revenue of nearly $1 Billion US. They were looking for a the perfect location to film their Fall/Winter/Spring fashion film and they came to us.

Location Scouting

Filmed over four days in Banff and Calgary, Mediapop served as the local production team to see this fashion film come to life.

With just a few weeks for pre-production that saw nearly 20 locations, multiple scenes of varying styles and substance, as well as art direction that was as creative as it was specific, the challenge at hand was enormous. Add a slight language barrier, smoky skies, and a broken down picture vehicle – we were able to create something of a love story for Calgary, Banff, and Alberta.

With a cast and crew of over 100 people, the injection into the local film economy was fantastic.

What’s best? The reason they chose Calgary and area as its location to film was the Peace Bridge, locally a most controversial piece of public infrastructure. In scouting locations around the world, MercadoLibre and our co-production partners at Kreatta Films, saw the unique modern architecture and natural beauty of our province and decided this was the place.

Producer’s Quote

“From the get go we faced almost insurmountable roadblocks, but with the help of the City of Calgary, the Province, and this amazing film community in Alberta, we were able to overcome and produce something of a love story to our city and province.
